Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, author, philanthropist, television host and the owner of The Huffington Post. When she moved into England from Greece at 16, she received a MA in Economics at Cambridge University. Being the first non-English-speaking student to graduate, she was elected president of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. Being a conservative syndicated blog following her graduation, she became the voice of Huffington Post. The fame of Arianna led to the recruitment of a number of famous contributors who shared their opinions on the news, politics and culture. Arianna became famous in 2003, when she ran as an independent candidate in the California recall elections in order to replace Governor Davis. She was also involved in an initiative in Detroit that promoted cars that are fuel efficient. In 2009 she was recognized by Forbes as The most influential women in media gaining 12th place on the listing and the following year the Guardian listed her on the top 100 media list. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her head of its media division that also includes the other AOL brands like Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. The parents of her were Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos. They were a management consultant and journalist. They were very close to her father. However, it was the relationship she had with her mother who formed her. At an early age, she demonstrated leadership skills which are still widely admired. At the age of 16, she moved over in the United Kingdom for her higher education. At Girton College Cambridge. When she was in college and was in Cambridge Union, she joined the debate societies in the college which she later became the first foreign female president. In 1972, she earned an MA in Economics. Following her degree she became a columnist, critic and a host on TV. In addition, she was a part of an edition of Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books, utilizing editorial guidance from him.
